Hi. Welcome to Reza's blog.

National Museum of Anthropology, Mexico City

We visited the National Museum of Anthropology on our first day in Mexico City. It was a great experience. If you go to Mexico City someday, make sure to spend some time there.

Much of the museum is about the pre-Columbian history of Mexico—the civilizations, cultures, and daily life of the people before Europeans arrived on the continent. This includes the Maya, Aztecs, Zapotecs, and other civilizations. The museum shows how these civilizations were formed, how the people lived, what they believed, and their artifacts, temples, and more.

I noticed how little I knew about these civilizations and how curious I am to learn more. This will be a topic to revisit in the future to dive deeper.

I was contemplating life while visiting the museum. Before us, people lived here for thousands of years. They had their own beliefs, thoughts, social structures, and ways of life. Today, we have some information about these people and how they lived. But there are many things we do not know and will never find out. Stories that are gone together with the people who created them.

Now, let’s fast-forward a few centuries. Most of our stories will be forgotten. Nobody will know about our ideas, how we looked at life, our struggles, or anything else.

This is the cycle of life. People come and go, life continues.
